Dear parents, grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, teachers, librarians, and everyone who reads to
children,
Here is the new 2008 Read Aloud America list of recommended books to read aloud to children, from
infants to teens and beyond.
We continue to use the same criteria for our reading list:

Cross-section of male/female main characters, genres, and popular authors Strong development of characters, plot, themes, and subtle moral (character- building) messages Age group appropriateness
We hope you will find this list a helpful guide to some of the best published books
for reading aloud.
